A Japanese flutist performing repertoires from the 15th to 20th centuries, Miyuki specializes in historically informed interpretations, ranging from medieval to modern flutes.
After obtaining her modern flute degree at the Ueno Gakuen University in Tokyo, she came to France to explore the origins of the French flute from the early 20th century, a subject that had fascinated her for a long time. Since settling in Europe in 2014, she has been invited to numerous festivals and concerts across the continent. In 2020, she completed her master’s degree at HEAR (Haute école des arts du Rhin) in Strasbourg under the guidance of Silvia Careddu.
Miyuki received a special prize at the international competition in Paris in 2019, after which she was invited to perform at the “Rencontres Internationales de la Harpe en île-de-France” festival. She has also performed as soloist with the Kyushu Symphony and the Ensemble Est.
She finished her studies in early music at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel in 2023, Switzerland, studying under Marc Hantaï.
One of the founders of the ensemble ‘Auditu Dignum‘ which won first prize at the Biagio Marini competition in 2024.
She will give a masterclass on diminution in Renaissance music at the Montluçon Conservatory in 2025.
Miyuki loves playing on the Akiyama Flûte, an instrument crafted by a single luthier using French silver from the 19th century and following manufacturing techniques used until the early 20th century. http://www.akiyamaflute.com/
